The Scythemaster

On the day that I retired
Home I worked, I was on fire
Something else I really liked
To mow lots of hay alike
As you see me with my scythe
It’s been handy day and night
One, as he still has his breath
Does not think about his death
As it comes all in an instant
Gone you are, you leave all distant
For your fortune’s in this world
But a feather in the storm
And I leave you cold 73 years old
1935-2008
